The 12th Annual Hope-A-Palooza fundraiser for SOS is coming up on Oct. 17.
Entertainment this year is a little bit different than years past. SOS welcomes magician and comedian Ran’D Shine, an entertainer who has performed in 27 countries and has opened for award-winning comedian Trevor Noah and performed at two presidential inaugurations. Shine says it is an honor to perform at Hope-A-Palooza.
SOS is a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower and advocate for those affected by sexual or domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking, child abuse and neglect. SOS services Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Osage and Morris counties.
Hope-A-Palooza is the biggest annual fundraiser for SOS and raises funds to support SOS services, and Mickey Edwards, Director of SOS, feels that having an entertainer like Shine and his message of hope and joy aligns perfectly with SOS.
While the funds raised at the event will go towards supporting services at SOS, Edwards explains that it goes back right to the people who need it the most, assisting victims with various needs and resources.
Hope-A-Palooza is on Friday, Oct. 17th at Emporia State University’s Memorial Union, starting with cocktails, followed by dinner, entertainment, awards and a live auction. Tickets are $75 per person or $600 for a table. Tickets are available at www.soskansas.com/hope-a-palooza, and for more information, contact SOS Community Relations Coordinator Hanna Crowl at 620-343-8799.
