2-1 Emporia High Football hits the road to face 2-1 Topeka High on Friday night in the Centennial League opener. Emporia has a lot of confidence going into this week after shutting out Coffeyville 50-0. The Spartans have outscored opponents 101-6 in the last two games, But Head Coach Danny Goodman knows the challenge is greater on Friday night against a Topeka team that has relied on their defense, allowing 11 points a game and outlines the keys to the game.
Emporia has a strong group of seniors including Caydrick Crouch who starts at tight end. Crouch recently signed a letter of intent to the Ottawa University Bowling team but says a win would mean so much to him and his teammates.
Emporia at Topeka at Hummer Sports Park will begin with pregame coverage at 6:30 and kickoff at 7 on KVOE.
