An Emporia man accused of aggravated arson as part of an incident this past summer has accepted a plea agreement.
Mitchell Lindsey was originally facing one count after allegedly setting a small fire inside the College Apartments, 132 West 12th, with at least one person inside at the time of the incident July 17. On Thursday, Lindsey accepted a no-contest plea on a reduced count of attempted arson.
Sentencing is Nov. 10. Lindsey could have faced trial as soon as this upcoming Monday had he not accepted the plea.
