With its annual Hope-A-Palooza coming next month, SOS has announced the award recipients it will honor as part of the event.
Coffey County Attorney’s Office Victim/Witness Coordinator Janine Wagner is the Agency Partner of the Year for her work with several SOS programs and the time she has taken to learn more about those services.
The Kiwanis Club of Emporia is the Volunteer of the Year for its work to keep the building at 1420 C of E Drive, including the shelter, safe, clean and current.
Kara Thomas is the CASA Volunteer of the Year for her work the past five-plus years, including finding permanency for children, as well as the over 500 volunteer hours and better than 1,000 miles of travel.
Randy Guyer is the Donor of the Year. Guyer’s donations help SOS clients have access to a special savings plan for home rental funds.
Emporia State’s Phi Delta Theta fraternity is the Legacy Award Winner for its annual Pole Sit fundraiser, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary next month as part of ESU’s Homecoming activities.
Hope-A-Palooza is Oct. 17 at the Emporia State Memorial Union Webb Hall, featuring cocktails, food, the aforementioned award presentations, an auction and entertainment from magician and comedian Ran’D Shine.
