With one convenience store set to see construction beginning later this fall, another is getting ready to open.
Walmart has set Oct. 22 as the tentative grand opening date for its new convenience store and gas station in front of the store and along Industrial Road. Construction began this past spring. The facility will have 10 gas pumps as well as a range of snacks and drinks inside. Walmart also says customers can enjoy up to 10-cent discounts per gallon if they have Walmart+ memberships.
Meanwhile, QuikTrip is still tentatively set for a groundbreaking ceremony in November for its new convenience store just southwest of Flint Hills Technical College. Construction could last well into 2026 for that convenience store.
