The Kansas Sidewinders Motorcycle Club is holding a Ride for Life Poker run benefitting Suicide Prevention on Saturday.
Jason Munday of the Sidewinders explains how the idea for this event started their partnership with with the Beacon for Hope, a non-profit with a commitment to suicide prevention in the area.
Registration for the Poker run will be at 10 a.m on Saturday at 7th Avenue, North of 627 Event Space in Emporia. The last bike out will be by noon and last bike in will be by 3 p.m. Poker prizes will be $300 for 1st best hand and $200 for second best hand. Munday says the event will be a great time for all but that the purpose for the event, suicide prevention, is a cause that is dear to his heart.
All vehicles are welcome at the run, as they will make stops a 9 Lives Bar in Olpe, Jones Park in Gridley, Wildcat Grill in New Straun, Heidi Inn in Lebo, and The Dark Horse Saloon in Emporia.
