A warrant-based search has led to the arrest of an Emporia man for suspected drug distribution.
Police Capt. Lisa Hayes has not said what triggered the search in the 1100 block of State on Wednesday evening, but she says the Police Department’s Special Response and Drone teams helped the Investigations Division with a narcotics investigation. As part of the effort, officers arrested 27-year-old Christopher Alexandro Diaz on suspicion of distributing a controlled substance. The illicit drug allegedly involved and the alleged amount have not been specified.
Nobody was hurt. Hayes says the warrant was “successfully executed.” Formal charges are pending through the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.
Wednesday evening’s activity involved Lyon and Greenwood county deputies, Emporia Fire and Lyon County Emergency Communications. The investigation continues at this time.
