An Emporia man accused of aggravated assault on law enforcement and other counts against local law enforcement is set for a pretrial hearing near the end of this month.
Jesus Abundiz-Correa was originally charged with aggravated assault, battery of and interference with law enforcement after an alleged incident in late August. At the time, he was also charged with possessing marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A count of cocaine possession was added late last month.
Following a preliminary hearing Thursday, Abundiz-Correa was set for a pretrial hearing Oct. 30.
Documents posted to the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal indicate Abundiz-Correa had an incident with local law enforcement in late August. Emporia Police officers have not given further details on that incident.
