Emporia Fire and two nearby districts were called out to a reported structure fire Friday morning. They weren’t on scene long or they were canceled before getting to the site.
Emporia, Americus and Olpe were called to the 700 block of Neosho around 7:45 am. However, Emporia firefighters found no signs of any fire activity, and Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says there was actually a false fire report.
Americus and Olpe crews were canceled en route.
A decision on a citation or other legal action is pending.
