A survey continues for USD 251 parents and patrons for the next week, but some issues have developed on the mail side.
The district says there have been some unspecified delivery issues, so it is placing additional QR codes in district communities. Blank paper surveys can be picked up at the district office in Americus, Northern Heights High School and the Miracle Cafe in Reading, while completed surveys can be dropped off at the board office, Northern Heights, North Lyon County Elementary/Junior High in Americus and Citizens State Bank in Reading.
Residents wanting to go online for the survey can find it at the district website, usd251.org.
The survey is the latest in a nearly-three-year effort to determine the district’s direction on significant facility matters. The survey includes three options, including renovating Northern Heights with a special addition; a new high school near NLC Elementary/Junior High; and a new K-12 campus near the center of the district’s student population — revisiting one of three facility options that was turned down as part of separate bond votes last decade. Results will be presented during the district board meeting Nov. 12.
