An Emporia man has been formally accused of distributing cocaine.
On Friday, the Lyon County Attorney’s Office finalized formal charges against 27-year-Christopher Alexandro Diaz. He is currently facing one count of distributing up to 100 grams of cocaine, although Lyon County paperwork on the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal never specifies the alleged amount. Diaz is also accused of using a communication facility — a cell phone — to manufacture, distribute, cultivate or possess controlled substances.
Diaz was arrested after a warrant-based search in the 1100 block of State on Wednesday evening, following efforts by the Emporia Police Department’s Investigations, Special Response and Drone divisions, as well as Lyon and Greenwood county deputies, Emporia Fire and Lyon County Emergency Communications.
Diaz is set for his first official court appearance Monday afternoon.
