Several bridge projects are moving forward after contract approvals by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Nearly a dozen bridges in Lyon County will see work on Interstate 35 between the Merchant Street exit and near the Chase County line as part of a roughly eight-mile overall construction zone. Realm Construction of Blue Springs, Missouri, was awarded the contract with a $2.2 million bid.
In Osage County, work is coming to the US Highway 75 bridge over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad track less than four miles north of the Coffey County line as well as a bridge over the Marais des Cygnes River about 6.5 miles north of the Coffey County line. AM Cohron and Son of Atlantic, Iowa, won the bid with a $2.6 million contract.
Several unspecified locations in Coffey and Osage counties are also seeing milling work. Dustrol Inc of Towanda won the contract with a $20,300 bid.
