Sacred Heart School is just about ready for its 52nd annual Mexican Supper.
On KVOE’s Morning Show this week, students and Principal Curtis Simons previewed the fundraising meal. Ffith-grader Jordan Moran says a lot of food has to be prepared.
The event is from 4:30-7 pm. Cost is $14 at the door for tacos, rice, chips, salsa and homemade dessert. There are also dine-in, carry-out or drive-thru options.
Fifth-grader Azalea Pineda says it’s an important fundraiser for the school.
This year, it’s important in another way because the parish is well into fundraising efforts for a new school building. Simons says the project is at $2.4 million pledged, or nearing the halfway mark towards the $6 million goal. Simons says the plan is to add the school next to the parish hall and eventually demolish the current, 99-year-old school.
