The Emporia State soccer team needed just one goal to shutout Missouri Southern for a 1-0 win on the road in Joplin, Mo. on Sunday. Megan Jeremias scored the only goal of the game with assists from Ruby Ryan and Sammy Quiroz. The Lady Hornets kept the Lions under pressure all match outshooting the Lions 20-8 with 13 shots coming after halftime and earning eight corner kicks while surrendering just one to MoSo. Emporia State is unbeaten in their last six matches with five victories and one tie. ESU (7-3-1, 4-0-1 MIAA) opens a four-game homestand on Friday hosting Rogers State at 2:30 p.m.
