It is time to announce the Area Athlete of the Week and Emporia High School Athlete of the week.
For the Area Athlete of the week, we go to Olpe High School where the Eagles football stayed red hot last Friday night, as the Eagles beat Mission Valley 42-6, thanks in part to a big night from Colton Redeker. Redeker stepped up with injuries in the backfield and had a career night, with 7 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown.

In the Emporia High School Athlete of the Week, we go to Emporia Girls Tennis where the Lady Spartans won their first league title in over 20 years and a huge reason why was the doubles teams of Peyton Chanley and Kinsley Hines. The pair won the Centennial League Championship and kept the momentum going, in a 3rd place finish in doubles at the Regional Tournament to qualify for this week’s state Tennis tournament.
