Emporia soccer bounced back in a big way on Thursday night, routing Wichita South 9-1 at home. Braxton Pugh had a big game for the Spartans, scoring four goals in the win. Pugh says it felt good to help the team win and put the ball in the back of the net.
Brayden Sailer had a two goal game with Kevin Magana, Alonzo Martinez and Cole Faulkner each scoring goals in the win. Emporia Head Coach Victor Ibarra says he was eager to see how his team would come out after a tough 8-0 loss on Tuesday to Washburn Rural, and says he was pleased with how his team came out against Wichita South.
Next up is a home game against St. Mary’s Academy on Tuesday night.
