SOS has Hope-A-Palooza in its sights.
The annual fundraiser is coming Friday night. Executive Director Mickey Edwards says Hope-A-Palooza has become SOS’ biggest fundraiser, even with successful, longer fundraising activities like SOS Strong and Heroes for Hope.
Edwards says funds from Hope-A-Palooza help SOS clients in different ways.
The event also follows a major fundraising success as SOS gained over $270,000 in grants from Michelin over a three-year period, culminating with an over $77,000 grant amount announced last last week.
Hope-A-Palooza is at the Emporia State Memorial Union Webb Hall, starting at 5 pm with cocktails and dinner at 5:45 pm. Magician and illusionist Ran’D Shine is the featured entertainment, with an auction also included. SOS is also honoring several award winners, including Coffey County Victim/Witness Coordinator Janine Wagner as Agency Partner of the Year, Kiwanis Club of Emporia as Volunteer of the Year, Kara Thomas as CASA Volunteer of the Year, Randy Guyer as Donor of the Year and Phi Delta Theta as the SOS Legacy Award winner.
