Some thunderstorms are possible during high school football games Friday evening. A few may be strong or borderline severe.
A slight chance of non-severe storms is in the forecast through mid-afternoon before a better chance of shower and storm coverage by late afternoon or very early evening. The current indications are the best chance of storms may be from 4-7 pm, near the start of most high school football games around 7 pm, and again between 9-11 pm or near the end of football games. Storms may bring wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail to the size of quarters and up to 0.30 inches of rainfall before leaving the area. Lightning will also be a hazard, which would cause game delays even without any severe weather.
High temperatures will be in the low 80s Friday and close to 80 Saturday. Cooler air comes in Sunday with highs in the mid-60s.
