The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has its monthly meeting Tuesday with several items up for discussion.
Board members will consider a request to rezone the former Kansas Avenue School, 315 South Market, to lead off the meeting. The property, owned by USD 253 Emporia and most recently occupied by CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness for its Gateway after-school program, may be converted into apartments of the current work by Frontier Development Group gains a zoning change, Community Development Block Grant funding and other administrative adjustments.
Board members will also review what’s called an “island annexation” for land in the 800 block of Road 160.
A review of the Planning Commission’s capital improvement plan is also on the agenda.
The meeting is at 6 pm Tuesday at the Municipal Court Room.
