More central-Emporia intersections are into short-term closures as the Southeast Transmission waterline project continues its slow advance.
Seventh Avenue is closed at Washington starting Tuesday, while Seventh at Walnut is closed effective Wednesday. Closures may last around two weeks and City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says water service may be interrupted.
The Southeast project is installing new, larger waterlines from 12th and Garfield to South and Carter over the next year. Updates on street closures, detours and other traffic matters is available at the city website, emporiaks.gov/livemap and the city Facebook page.
