A wreck in southeast Lyon County sent one person to Emporia for medical treatment Thursday.
Lyon County Deputy James Baker says the crash happened around 5:30 pm in the 1400 block of Road 30, about five miles southeast of Olpe and about 15 miles southeast of Emporia. Baker says 44-year-old Thomas Schull of Parker was driving a pickup with an empty gooseneck trailer and was headed eastbound on Road 30, while 18-year-old Shakoda Kindsvater, hometown not listed, was driving a car southbound on Road P. Kindsvater did not stop at the intersection and broadsided the Schull pickup.
Kindsvater was taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health for what are being called non-life-threatening injuries. Schull was checked at the scene and released. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
