It is time for the Area Athlete of the Week and EHS Athlete of the Week.
For the Area Athlete of the Week, we go to Osage City High School and their football team, where the Indians finished 7-1 in the regular season after a 27-8 win over Riley County. A big reason why, Dylan Theel, who had a big game at running back, rushing 12 times for 140 yards and a touchdown. He had a long of 83 and added two receptions for 21 yards and a touchdown, while on defense had five tackles.

For the Emporia High Athlete of the Week, Spartans Football had a strong showing in Junction City, falling 28-6 and a key reason for Emporia’s success was Brody Telfer. He has starred at linebacker all season for the Spartans, but in his final regular season game played running back and made the most of his opportunity. He had 11 carries for 62 yards, most of which were in the first half to go with multiple assisted tackles.
