Kaylee Dewitt reached a career milestone for Emporia volleyball on Saturday afternoon, eclipsing the 1,000 assist mark, as Emporia Lady Spartans volleyball fell in the first round of the Substate playoffs to Andover Central in three sets, 2-1.
It was an extremely close match with Emporia dropping the first set 25-23. Lady Spartans came back to win the 2nd set by the same score 25-23 to force a 3rd set. It was another close match but Andover Central did just enough to win the 3rd set 25-21 to win the season.
Emporia ends the season with a 24-12 record.
