It may not seem like a big deal, but the Coffey County Sheriff’s Office says the recent groundbreaking for three new radio communication towers is indeed notable.
The Sheriff’s Office continues its work to improve its communications between law enforcement agencies, emergency response entities, schools, state departments and Wolf Creek after contracting with Motorola two years ago. Towers, including one now under construction in LeRoy and coming soon to Lebo and Gridley, are designed to improve emergency communications in areas where there is currently little to no signal.
All three towers should be erected by spring 2026.
