Emporia State Theatre is just about ready for its second weekend of its Homecoming musical.
“The Rocky Horror Show” has performances Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. On KVOE’s Talk of Emporia recently, Director Aubrey Wilson said the first weekend went extremely well.
Wilson says the stage performance has some differences, but largely holds to the flow known in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” She says the movie had a rather twisty path to cult status 50 years ago.
Performers, including Alex Knudsen, say the show has been fun to perform. Or, put another way when it comes to the music…
This is the 51st Homecoming musical for ESU Theatre. Performances are at 7:30 pm Thursday, midnight Friday following the 9 pm screening of a related documentary, “Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror,” and the finale at 7:30 pm Saturday. Tickets are available through emporia.edu/tickets.
