Potentially frosty conditions have led to the first cold-weather advisories of the season for area counties.
Lyon, Coffey, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in a frost advisory from 4-8 am Thursday, while Chase and Greenwood counties are in advisories from 1-10 am. The alerts reflect overnight lows in the low to mid-30s.
Wind advisories, meanwhile, continue for now. Lyon and most surrounding counties remain in an advisory until 10 am, with Chase and Greenwood counties in a separate advisory until 1 pm. Wind gusts have topped 50 mph at the Emporia Municipal Airport and above 45 mph at the Eureka Milliken Airport overnight. More gusts between 50-60 mph are expected before calmer conditions later in the day.

*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.10 inches
*Deerbrook Addition: 0.20 inches
*Ninth and Lawrence: 0.22 inches
*Eureka Milliken Airport: 0.37 inches
Dry conditions are now expected through early next week after Tuesday’s showers and anywhere from 1.5-3 inches of rainfall this past weekend.
