Olpe used a four touchdown first quarter to defeat Pleasanton 59-14 on Thursday night. Colton Redeker and Brayden Lienemann each had two rushing scores to give Olpe a 25-0 lead after the first quarter. Redeker would add a rushing touchdown early in the second quarter, giving Olpe a 32-0 advantage. The score would remain the same heading into the half. Pleasanton would find rhythm offensively to start the second half, scoring on a Kam Staton to Mario Davis connection to draw within 32-7 with 6:30 remaining in the third quarter. Redeker would get momentum back on Olpe’s side with a 48 yard touchdown score to give Olpe a 39-7 advantage. Olpe would force a turnover and then get another quick touchdown strike from Leinemann to Brecken McGuire for 31 yards. Olpe would score again to go up 53-7 after a Trey Leinemann 28 yard touchdown rush. Staton would find another score in the passing game, finding Aiden Patrick to close out the third quarter with Olpe leading 53-14. Olpe’s Cale Steffes would take the first play of the fourth quarter 37 yards for the final score of the evening, advancing the score to 59-14. Redeker finished the night with 172 yards on 9 carries. Staton was 19/51 for 224 yards in the passing game. Olpe (7-2) will await the winner of Jackson Heights and Southeast Cherokee for their matchup in Regionals.
Madison advanced to the Regional round by routing Sedan 57-12 in the first round of the 8-Man DI playoffs Thursday night. Cruz Leiser carried 12 times for 97 yards and a score while Brandon Grimmett finished 11 of 22 through the air for 241 yards and five touchdowns. Lane Smith finished with five total touchdowns and had four receptions for 102 yards. Madison (8-1) travels to Ell-Saline (8-1) in the regional round next week. They eliminated Washington County 56-0 Thursday night.
