Jury trial dates have been tentatively set in a Lyon County arson case.
Jesus Hinostroza Jr was set for trial to possibly begin as soon as Dec. 15, with other start dates listed as Dec. 22 and Jan. 26. A two-day trial is expected, regardless of the start date.
Hinostroza is currently charged with aggravated arson, battery against law enforcement and interference with law enforcement after an alleged incident in the 100 block of West in early May. The fire damaged a bedroom and sent smoke through the house.
Separately, potential trial start dates are set in a Lyon County case involving allegations of child exploitation and other forms of child abuse.
If the current docket holds, Jacob Garcia could go to trial Feb. 23. Trial could last all that week.
Garcia, 23, faces almost 10 counts of illegal activity against two children, ages as old as 15 and 13, and a 23-year-old adult. Garcia has five counts of sexual exploitation of a child — three of which have alternates also listed as sex exploitation. There are also single counts of aggravated indecent liberties, indecent liberties, breach of privacy and internet trading in child sex abuse materials.
Prosecutors say abuse dates back intermittently to May 2024.
