Two Emporia restaurants and a grocery have been noted for health code violations by the Kansas Department of Agriculture.
Bruffs Sports Bar and Grill, 2640 West 18th, had 10 issues noted, ranging from outdated food, improper placement of sliced fruits, a broken dispensing unit for the dishwasher, no cold water in the bar’s handwashing sink and no soap at the food prep handwashing sink.
Palermo’s Italian Restaurant, 2002 West Sixth, had a dozen violations, including food storage temperatures, food buildup on a can opener, undated opened food and no written clean-up plan for vomiting or diarrhea incidents.
Mi Super Mercado, 1324 Industrial, had eight violations in its last report, including improper use of gloves while cleaning, inadequate procedures for washing dishes, no hot water in the meat department three-compartment sink or meat cutting room handwashing sink, a leaky drain line and improper use of the handwashing sink with a wiping bucket.
