The Emporia Christmas Parade is coming up soon and the individuals who will lead the procession in downtown Emporia have been revealed.
Brian and Lisa Keith will be the Parade Marshalls for this year’s parade, set to take place early next month. Brian Keith is a longtime local rancher and owner of Keith Cattle Company alongside Lisa, who is best known for serving as the Director of the David Traylor Zoo for 16 years, as part of more than 30 years of zoo work.
She retired from the position last year.
Of the chamber’s selection, Membership Director Rebeca Herrera says in a news release, “Lisa and Brian embody everything our parade stands for: generosity, leadership, and community spirit. Their kindness and dedication truly reflect the heart of ‘A Country Christmas’ and the values that make Emporia such a special place to call home.”
The Keiths will join KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Thursday at 7:20 am to discuss the announcement further. The Christmas Parade will take place on Tuesday, December 2, in downtown Emporia, with the lighting ceremony beginning at 6:30 followed by the parade at 7 pm.
