There was a reported injury crash involving a car and a deer in north Lyon County around 6:20 pm Thursday.
Lyon County Deputy James Baker says 33-year-old Zachary Witt of Lyndon was southbound on Kansas Highway 99 when a deer ran into the front of Witt’s car, “taking out” the front end in the wreck that happened about two miles south of the Wabaunsee County line.
Witt was observed on scene and declined medical treatment afterward.
K-99 traffic was reduced to one lane for about 40 minutes after the wreck. Besides deputies, Emporia/Lyon County EMS and Miller Fire responded.
