Registered Nurse Anna Stanley is soft-spoken, but her interactions with patients at Newman Regional Health has resonated loudly.
Stanley was named as the hospital’s latest Daisy Award on Friday. She tells KVOE News she was spurred to be a nurse after her mother developed significant health issues.
Stanley, a registered nurse for five years and a licensed practical nurse for a decade before that, says it feels good to help others.
Director of Nursing Heather Aylward says Stanley is known for her compassion.
The DAISY Award was established back in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at age 33 of from complications of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. His family established the award to honor the many nurses who cared for Barnes during his battle with the disease.
