Groundbreaking activities have been announced for Olpe’s Fitness Park.
Groundbreaking for Olpe High’s new football stadium will take place at 3 pm Wednesday.
The action comes just over a week after a special meeting by the USD 252 Southern Lyon County Board of Education to approve a nearly $1.9 million donation from the Fitness Park Committee and ATG Sports as the lead contractor for phase one construction, including the stadium, eight-lane running track, bleachers, fencing and a press box. Phase one also includes the start of a fitness trail.
As this first round of work gets started, fundraising continues for the second stage, including a splash pad, multipurpose building and completion of the fitness trail.
