Matters related to a pending expansion of a local employer could see action by Lyon County Commissioners as part of their regular action meeting Thursday.
Commissioners are set to consider a request from the city of Emporia for annexing a portion of property at 800 Road 160. The request comes as A1 Pump and Jet is looking to expand its operations in the area, a plan which has gained favor from city commissioners, as expressed when they first approved the request last month.
In late October, Emporia Planning Commissioners voted to recommend approval of the annexation to city leadership if and when county commissioners took action on the item. The main question for county leadership Thursday is whether the requested annexation would negatively impact any county business or roadways if approved.
In a separate action, commissioners will consider approving the payment of an invoice for pile driver parts to Meever Foundation Equipment for $5,114.86. One executive session for non-elected personnel for the purpose of employee evaluations is also planned.
The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Commission Chambers.
