The USD 251 North Lyon County Board of Education has been discussing major facility changes for years, and that general topic is back in front of the board again Wednesday.
Board members will discuss the final results of the most recent community survey as the district mulls the latest options for possible facility enhancements, additions or new buildings. The survey included three options, including renovating Northern Heights with a special addition; a new high school near NLC Elementary/Junior High; and a new K-12 campus near the center of the district’s student population. This effort follows around two years of work and three unsuccessful votes for new buildings or building configurations about a decade ago.
Separate discussions will revolve around regular financial and legislative matters and capital outlay projects. Two executive sessions are planned, one for student matters and another for non-elected personnel.
The meeting starts at 6 pm at the board meeting room in Americus.
