Wednesday looks to be extremely busy in the US House of Representatives.
House members anticipate intensive work on a continuing resolution passed Monday night in the Senate that would fully fund the federal budget through January and keep certain departments, including Agriculture and Veterans Affairs, open for the rest of the federal fiscal year — or through September. Schmidt tells KVOE News it’s a relief to be at this point.
Schmidt says the faster the budget reopens, the better it is for the American people.
If passed in its current state, ABC News says the bill will reverse Trump administration firings and make sure all furloughed workers receive back pay. President Trump has indicated he will sign the bill once it’s through the House.
