The Emporia Community Foundation’s Morgan Wilkie Fund has announced grant funding to a local nonprofit and to a county school district.
The Wilkie Fund is donating $2,000 to CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness so the mental health agency can finish updates to the Sauder Family Center Playground, including a replacement of the current surface with low-maintenance turf. Also, USD 252 Southern Lyon County was granted $1,500 to help the district buy food, nursing supplies and hygiene products.
The Wilkie Fund was created by Clara Wilkie Sharpe to honor the memory of her parents and late husband. The fund is geared towards projects benefiting children, elderly residents and women.
