The Emporia State soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 1-0 loss in the MIAA Soccer Tournament semifinals at the Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita, Kan. on Thursday. UCO controlled the action throughout and outshot the Lady Hornets 9-3 at the half, but neither team got on the scoreboard in the first half. UCO found the back of the net for the game’s only tally with 30 minutes to play in the match. The Lady Hornets finished the year 9-6-5, the first winning season for second-year head coach Jane Grimley-Gunn.
