Lyon County’s WIC is returning to normal operations following the recent end of the month-long Federal government shutdown.
WIC announced late Thursday afternoon that offices are once again fully up and running after several weeks of “uncertainty due to the federal government shutdown,” as the state of Kansas has secured funding to keep services up and running with no disruptions or alterations. CareArc CEO Renee Hively stated in a recent news release, “We are very grateful for the community’s patience and understanding during this time. Our team has continued working hard to make sure families can access their benefits and support. We’re happy to be back to full operations and ready
to serve everyone locally again.”
For appointments, questions and certifications WIC participants are being asked to contact Lyon County WIC directly by calling 620-208-3741 or by visiting carearc.org/wic.
WIC services include nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and access to healthy foods for pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and young children.
