Work on Overlander Road underway the last few weeks will lead to a short-term water outage nearby next week.
City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says crews will connect a new waterline to the existing main on West Sixth near Overlander this upcoming Tuesday. There is an outage expected along West Sixth from Overlander to Graphic Arts starting in the morning and continuing through at least part of the day.
Overlander is under construction US Highway 50 to West Sixth. Work will replace a nearly 100-year-old bridge currently unsuitable for modern truck traffic. There will also be a new 12-inch water main and a widened roadway from two to three lanes, including curb, gutter and storm sewer. Work will continue into summer 2026.
