Match Day 2025 is almost here.
The annual 24-hour period of charitable giving is coming Monday and will once again support more than 30 area non-profit organizations. During an interview on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia Friday, Emporia Community Foundation Executive Director Linda Kehres Schmidt stated that the energy surrounding the event has been building for months for both her staff and those set to benefit from the community’s generosity.
Match Day will run from midnight to 11:59 pm and Kehres Schmidt reminded residents that they are able to give both online or in person.
Donations will be accepted in the ECF Offices at 527 Commercial Street, Suite B, from 9 am to 5 pm Monday. A reception and celebration event will take place in the ECF offices starting at 6 pm. On top of the community donations, Kehres Schmidt stated that they once again had several generous community partners contribute a total of $170,000 in matching funds.
For the past several years, Match Day has consistently been a record-setting event, including the 2024 edition, which raised nearly $770,000.
