Emporia State volleyball coach Ken Murczek has announced another signing class at Emporia State. His 2026 class includes seven players including four high school signings and three transfers. The incoming freshmen are:
Piper Bahr (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) – outside hitter, Lee’s Summit North HS: 515 kills as a senior with 1,226 in her career. Left program as career and single-season kills leader and was a three-time All-League performer.
Aubrey Harrington (Parker, Colo.) – setter, Lutheran HS: Two-time All-League for the Lions leading them to a runner-up at the 4A state tournament as a senior.
Kyndal Moore (Ellinwood) – middle blocker, Ellinwood HS: Three-time All-Central Prairie League and Two-Time All-State who led Ellinwood to a 47-0 record and 2A state title as a senior.
Jade Xu (Emporia) – outside hitter, Emporia: First Team All-Centennial League and wrapped Lady Spartan career with 1,000 career kills and digs, she is the daughter of former ESU coach Bing Xu.
The transfers include (class as of 2026):
Carlie Martin (Meade) – junior, libero, Johnson County CC: Averaged 4.5 digs per set as a sophomore and was a four-time All-League performer at Meade HS.
Taylin Stallbaumer (Topeka) – junior, libero, Butler County CC: Averaged 3.1 digs per set as a sophomore and had 1,000 assists as setter as freshman at Johnson County CC. She was a four-time All-United Kansas Conference performer at Seaman HS.
Miyu Tsurumaki (Takeo, Japan) – senior, libero, Charlotte: Had 237 digs with 25 aces at Charlotte in 2023. Two-time All-Conference performer at Southern Idaho.
The Lady Hornets open MIAA Tournament play tomorrow against Central Oklahoma.
