Radical Life’s annual Radical Champions fundraising campaign set a record for the Emporia nonprofit.
Participants generated over $28,000, above last year’s mark by $11,000. On KVOE’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Radical Life co-founder Lindsay Smith thanked the participants for their energy and drive.
Fundraising helps Radical Life connect with families who may be struggling to deal with poverty or who may need a range of life skills to thrive.
The end of the fundraiser doesn’t mean a pause in Radical Life’s work, much of which has been centered on renovating the one-time First Friends Church location at 528 Sylvan after Radical Life bought the property in October.
Radical Life is now raising funds for a new playground and fencing. It is also planning Monday-night meals for next year and asking community members to join its meal train for that effort.
