Chase County had some progress in getting some new outdoor warning signs installed Wednesday.
Emergency Management Director Scott Wiltse says the siren at the Matfield Green Fire Station was installed. Plans were to install new sirens at the Cottonwood Falls Fire Station and Strong City Rodeo Grounds either Wednesday or Thursday, but Wiltse says the installer had unforeseen issues and now has to wait until early December.
Funding for the new sirens is largely from a 75-percent federal matching grant, a 25-percent county match and the Trusler Foundation.
