For the 34th consecutive year, KVOE, Emporia State Federal Credit Union and the National Teachers Hall of Fame came together Thursday night to support the best of the best in education.
The annual National Teachers Hall of Fame Radio Auction took over the airwaves and KVOE’s YouTube Channel through the evening, bringing in a preliminary total of $14,075. The radio auction, as always, served as the wrap-up of American Education Week activities in Emporia and followed the annual USD 253 Emporia cookie delivery on Wednesday.
Emporia State Federal Credit Union was once again front an center for both activities assisting with Wednesday’s deliveries, hosting Thursday’s auction at its Industrial Road branch and donating $2,000 at the start of the proceedings — matched dollar-for-dollar by an anonymous partner. ESFCU President and CEO Angie Miller says education is the basis for all things and the credit union is always proud to elevate everyone who makes education possible.
KVOE General Manager Ron Thomas says the radio auction is always an exciting night for all involved and one that the station is proud to be a part of.
NTHF Director Maddie Fennel says she always looks forward to the auction, noting it is their largest annual fundraiser each year and one that helps make the induction experience that inductees have come to expect from Teacher Town USA a possibility.
If you were unable to participate in the radio auction Thursday night, you still have time to bid on items as part of the NTHF online auction, which continues at charictyauctionstoday.com through November 30. You can access the online auction by clicking here or by going to NTHF.org.
