A Mississippi man was hospitalized following a vehicle accident before sunrise Sunday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, the accident occurred just after 3:30 am at mile marker 124.7 southbound. A 2022 Toyota Tundra, driven by 47-year-old Jonathan Daniel Brown of Saucier, Mississippi, was traveling southbound when it struck a deer in the roadway.
It is unclear if the vehicle left the roadway or how seriously the vehicle was damaged; however, the crash log says Brown suffered suspected minor injuries as a result of the crash. He was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment following the accident.
Brown was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
