Emporia’s Church of Christ has a lot of food getting prepared for its 35th annual Thanksgiving meal Thursday.
Pastor Neil Taylor says 15 turkeys, 10 hams and all the classic Thanksgiving sides will be available for the public. There’s a lot of food getting made now, with more being made on site.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Monday, Taylor said the meal is a time of service and spirituality.
Service to the community is a standard, but organizers are looking to serve more of the community this year.
The meal is from 11 am to 1 pm. The meal is free and the public is invited to attend. Dine-in and carryout options are available.
