Emporian Philip Lieurance is spending the next 45 years in a Colorado prison for the deaths of two Emporia women over two years ago.
Following the tentative terms of a plea agreement reached in August, Judge Michael Davidson sentenced Lieurance to consecutive prison terms of 22 years, six months, for the murders of Linda Estrada and Amy Ford. Lieurance will also have a mandatory five-year parole period once his prison term is complete.
Lieurance was originally charged with first-degree murder for the death of Amy Ford and second-degree murder for the killing of Linda Estrada in September 2023, as well as two counts of tampering with a body, after allegedly running over Ford with his SUV and hiding the bodies of both women. All related charges were dismissed. Estrada and Ford were missing for 10 days before their bodies were found south of Eads in southeast Colorado.
After Ford and Estrada went missing, Lieurance returned to Kansas and was involved in a crash that hurt several people near Emporia. An aggravated battery case developed shortly afterward, leading to a 34-month sentence for three counts of aggravated battery.
