Holidays are times for traditions, both for people and community organizations.
The Flint Hills Optimists have opened up their major holiday tradition in the Christmas Tree Lot fundraiser at Guion’s Showcase. Spokesman Bob Burenheide says all the traditional favorites are available while supplies last.
Trees are all live and fresh-cut before being delivered to Emporia.
Hours are 5:30-8 pm Monday through Friday, 10 am to 8 pm Saturday and 1-6 pm Sunday while supplies last. Cash, check and cards are accepted. Proceeds benefit youth programs, activities and projects in Emporia and across Lyon County.
