After the community gave so generously to Project Playscape this year, the Americus-based non-profit, in cooperation with other local entities, will be giving a gift of its own to the community this weekend.
The city of Americus, Project Playscape and the Americus Fire Department will be hosting holiday activities on Saturday, starting with the annual Christmas Parade at the corner of Main Street and Walnut at 7 pm. Britney Hinrichs of Project Playscape says anyone and everyone is welcome to sign up to participate until the start of the parade.
The lineup for the parade will be at 6:15 pm. Following the holiday procession through Americus, the Americus Fire Department will host a Cookies With Santa event, which Hinrichs says always draws a good crowd.
Saturday’s Christmas activities come just a few short days after the annual Match Day check presentation, where Project Playscape received just over $12,000 in donations from the community.
